The Troussel family, whose name can be traced back to the Romanesque period, has been living in the Venaissin County at Carpentras since the beginning of the XVIth century.
The first of the Troussels were labourers, they worked the land for others. Later they became landowners they possessed their own house and land, and in 1771, Pierre TROUSSEL became an acknowledged winegrower.
Many generations later, in 1978, The Troussel Domain was founded.
HISTORY OF THE DOMAIN
The estate is situated in the foothills of the Mont Ventoux, which has been a winegrowing area for more than 2000 years., It is managed as a family concern ; parents (founders), sons, daughters.
1978 : First vinification on the Estate, with 18 hectares producing 700 hectolitres of wine.
1981 : First expansion. With 40 hectares of land the production rose to 200 hectolitres.
1998 : Second expansion. With 52 hectares producing AOC wine and 3 hectares table wine, 2500 hectolitres of wine are produced using environmentally friendly growing methods and traditional vinification.
